Description
Fastmarkets is hiring a Principal Software Architect to provide architectural leadership and technical strategy for Product Engineering. The role owns solution architecture, major product programmes, design standards, governance, and cross-organisation alignment across Product Engineering, Data & AI, and Cloud Engineering. It also co-owns AI-enabled product development lifecycle practices, supports AI use cases, and helps define a technical specialist career pathway. The position requires 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years at architecture or senior technical leadership level, along with expertise in distributed systems, microservices, APIs, cloud-native patterns, AI/GenAI, RAG, and production systems. The role is weighted toward architecture and standards rather than full-time hands-on building, with part-time or full-time delivery involvement depending on project scale and risk.
