Description

Fastmarkets is hiring a Principal Software Architect to provide architectural leadership and technical strategy for Product Engineering. The role owns solution architecture, major product programmes, design standards, governance, and cross-organisation alignment across Product Engineering, Data & AI, and Cloud Engineering. It also co-owns AI-enabled product development lifecycle practices, supports AI use cases, and helps define a technical specialist career pathway. The position requires 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years at architecture or senior technical leadership level, along with expertise in distributed systems, microservices, APIs, cloud-native patterns, AI/GenAI, RAG, and production systems.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years at architecture or senior technical leadership level
Experience as a solution or technical architect setting direction and design standards across multiple teams
Experience defining technical standards, governance, and engineering best practice across multiple teams
Experience architecting large, multi-team product programmes and managing third-party architecture standards
Experience taking AI/GenAI capabilities from prototype through production
Understanding of agentic or multi-agent AI system design and production operations
Working knowledge of RAG, including ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector search, and production retrieval pipelines
Experience leading or influencing an AI-enabled product development lifecycle
