Description
The Technical Manufacturing Manager leads a small team of engineering technicians responsible for building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting low-volume, high-mix scientific hardware. The role owns technical quality, experimental-physics-based troubleshooting, system transition from development to controlled manufacturing, and technician capability development. It requires a strong experimental-physics foundation, substantial hands-on experience with lasers, spectroscopy, ultrahigh vacuum, precision optics, or comparable hardware, and typically seven or more years of relevant professional experience. The role is primarily on-site in manufacturing, optical laboratories, cleanrooms, and controlled-access environments, with occasional support outside standard working hours.
