Description

Guidehouse is hiring a Technical Lead / Solution Architect to provide technical leadership and solution architecture for a large-scale GrantSolutions platform modernization program. The role defines target-state architecture, integration patterns, API-enabled services, technical standards, legacy coexistence, and incremental migration strategies; coordinates vendors, Scrum teams, enterprise architects, and Federal stakeholders; and guides delivery across development, testing, deployment, security, and operational readiness. The position requires a bachelor’s degree, 6–8 years of relevant technical leadership experience, a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance, and expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, containerization, data architecture, security, and AI-enabled development.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree
Required Previous Experiences: 6–8 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, systems integration, platform modernization, cloud-enabled application delivery, or related technical leadership roles
Experience designing, delivering, and modernizing enterprise applications with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, API design, and mission-critical application patterns
Experience designing integration and interoperability architectures connecting legacy, cloud-native, microservices, and vendor-delivered platforms
Experience architecting and governing AWS-based cloud-native solutions
Experience architecting containerized, scalable distributed systems with Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, observability, monitoring, logging, and operational support
Expertise in domain-driven design and modular architecture for complex business systems
Understanding of enterprise data architecture, interoperability, data migration, master data management, relational databases, data modeling, performance tuning, and transaction management
Experience designing scalable NoSQL data solutions with distributed data modeling
Understanding of enterprise security architecture, identity and access management, and Zero Trust principles
Experience establishing API standards, integration patterns, reference architectures, architecture decision records, interface specifications, and technical standards
Experience conducting architecture reviews, technology evaluations, solution assessments, trade-off analyses, and technical risk analysis
Experience providing hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, architectural governance, and solution direction across Agile teams, vendors, engineers, and stakeholders
Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding assistants and agents
Experience leading platform modernization initiatives in enterprise or government environments
Experience supporting federal or government IT programs involving legacy modernization, shared services, interoperability, cloud adoption, data governance, or phased capability delivery
Experience leading multi-vendor delivery within a common platform architecture

Experience supporting projects focused on user experience, workflow simplification, operational continuity, adoption, and measurable business outcomes during modernization transitions
Architecture, cloud, agile, or security certification, such as AWS, Azure, TOGAF, SAFe, or Certified ScrumMaster
Experience designing AI-enabled applications using Amazon Bedrock or equivalent LLM platforms, RAG, AI agents, vector databases, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI controls
Experience operating as a Forward Deployed Engineer partnering with mission users to prototype and operationalize AI-enabled capabilities
