Description

Apple is hiring a CS TechOps Engineer, also described as a Technical Operations and Site Reliability Engineer, to maintain the reliability, availability, and performance of globally distributed business-critical systems. The role involves building automation and monitoring tools, leading incident response and operational metrics, managing production outages, troubleshooting distributed systems, determining capacity needs, and leading a global engineering team. The position requires experience with Java, JEE, REST, Swift/Objective C, websockets, data access technologies, production support, and monitoring tools such as Open Telemetry and Splunk.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience debugging Java, JEE, REST, Swift/Objective C, Websockets, and data access technologies
Experience leading operations teams for large-scale mission-critical applications in a 24x7 onshore/offshore support model
Experience with production support practices for web and iOS applications and automation
Experience interpreting data from Open Telemetry, Splunk, and other monitoring tools
Preferred Qualifications: Experience using AI/LLM models for operations efficiency, model training, MCP creation, or model utility design
Understanding of HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, the OSI Model, subnetting, and load balancing
Experience strategizing operational excellence in global distributed systems
Understanding of microservices, messaging brokers, and versioning
Understanding of Linux operating systems, including kernel, memory, processes, threads, libraries, IPC, and signals
