Description

The Electric Plant Co. is hiring a full-time Technical Program Manager to own its research roadmap and data-generation programs, including capability validation, experimental design, AI/ML model development, and external research-partner management. The role coordinates science, AI/ML, and field partners; builds research partnerships, grants, and advisory relationships; and reports to the Director of Engineering. It is based in San Francisco with regular travel to field sites and partner locations, offers a $220,000–$250,000 annual salary plus equity, and starts ASAP.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experimental or data-generation work with defined exit criteria, success metrics, and evidence standards
Managing stakeholder or external-partner requirements and data-quality standards
Plant physiology or agronomy grounding, or rigorous scientific research operations experience
Fluency in sensor hardware, experimental science, or applied statistics and data
Sourcing, vetting, and contracting external research partners
Building or improving research roadmaps, tracking, and review processes
Strong written communication
Operating without a mature inherited process
Preferred Qualifications: PhD or equivalent deep research training in a life science or related field
Data generation for machine learning experience
Experience at a hardware-plus-AI or sensing company
Grant-writing experience
Experience running a research operations function or PMO that later scaled up
