Description

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Technical Staff Engineer to provide principal technical leadership for its Zephyr RTOS ecosystem initiatives. The role defines architecture and enablement strategy, leads open-source and Zephyr Project engagement, coordinates cross-functional technical initiatives, supports customer and partner adoption, and represents Microchip in industry ecosystems. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and at least 12 years of experience in embedded software, systems architecture, or RTOS-based product development, along with significant RTOS, open-source, and embedded semiconductor experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Required Previous Experiences: 12+ years of experience in embedded software development, embedded systems architecture, or RTOS-based product development
Significant experience with Real-Time Operating Systems, preferably including Zephyr RTOS
Experience leading complex software architecture and platform enablement initiatives across multiple product lines
Experience working in open-source software communities and contributing to upstream projects
Experience supporting MCU, MPU, connectivity, security, or other embedded semiconductor products
Technical leadership experience influencing cross-functional and globally distributed engineering teams
Experience working directly with customers, ecosystem partners, and industry organizations
Preferred Qualifications: Active participation or recognized contributions within the Zephyr Project or other major open-source communities
Experience presenting at technical conferences, industry forums, or developer events
Knowledge of semiconductor product development lifecycles and embedded software enablement strategies
Experience defining and executing ecosystem adoption strategies for software platforms
Track record of successfully driving industry collaboration and standards adoption initiatives
