Microchip Technology Inc. is hiring a Tech Staff Design Engineer in its Data Center Solutions business unit to develop storage and memory controller SoC products from concept through production. The role focuses on pad ring planning, IO cell placement and connectivity, bump pattern definition, physical-design handoff deliverables, compliance with package and implementation constraints, and cross-functional resolution of IO and package issues. It also supports verification, emulation, ASIC validation, and silicon debug. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 12+ years of related experience, with expertise in advanced SoC IO planning, PHY interfaces, EDA tools, deliverable generation, IP views, and Tcl/Python automation; an M.S., DFT/JTAG knowledge, RTL and synthesis exposure, and project/version tracking tools are preferred.
