Microchip Technology Inc. is hiring a Firmware and Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, debug, verify, and validate firmware, drivers, software components, unit-test frameworks, verification systems, and DevOps tools for Switchtec System-on-Chip PCI Express switching products. The role collaborates across multiple sites in an agile environment, supports pre-silicon development and post-silicon bring-up, troubleshoots customer-reported issues, maintains technical documentation, and mentors junior firmware engineers. Candidates need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, at least 15 years of embedded application or high-level embedded software experience, strong C and assembly programming skills, and expertise in SoC, RTOS, multi-threading, and SMP firmware development. The position offers 0–25% travel and an annual base salary range of $107,000–$226,000, along with restricted stock units, quarterly bonuses, health benefits, retirement savings plans, and an IESPP program.
