Description
The Telecommunication Operator I C1 (Non-Certified) and Telecommunication Operator I C1C (Certified) roles answer emergency and non-emergency calls, screen and evaluate callers, provide assistance, coordinate information, refer calls, and perform related technical tasks in a 24/7 emergency dispatch center. The non-certified role pays $24.36–$25.60 hourly, while the certified role pays $26.36–$27.60 hourly. Both require a high school diploma or GED, two years of relevant data-entry, multi-line phone, or customer-service experience, typing proficiency, and background and drug testing; the non-certified role requires obtaining a New Mexico Department of Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification within one year of hire.
