Irvine Ranch Water District is hiring a temporary Laboratory Scientist (Microbiology) for its Water Quality Department. The part-time role is limited to six months and up to 30 hours per week, with a schedule covering Wednesdays through Mondays, including weekends. The scientist will perform routine chemical, biochemical, physical, and microbiological analyses on water, biosolids, sludges, solids, air, and other environmental samples; operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation; prepare reagents; conduct quality assurance and control checks; record data in LIMS; and support laboratory accreditation and safety programs. Applicants need a bachelor's degree or equivalent training in a relevant scientific field and two years of professional laboratory experience, with a professional internship at a water or sanitation district considered.
