Description
The Medical Assistant assists health care providers in a community health center by receiving patients, preparing them for examinations, taking vital signs, administering medications and injections, performing standardized tests and CLIA-waived procedures, documenting care in an electronic health record, coordinating referrals and authorizations, and providing clerical and scheduling support. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program, credentialing under federal CMS guidelines, and current CPR training; six months of clinic experience is preferred. The position works indoors, may require travel to appointments, and involves exposure to communicable diseases and individuals in crisis.
