Description
Assists special education teachers in reinforcing efforts with children with various disabilities, including physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities, behavior disorders, emotional impairments, and mental impairments, according to individual education programs. Provides direct assistance such as lifting non-ambulatory students, offering one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene services, assisting with classroom adjustments for students with orthopedic impairments, and helping teach daily living skills. The role involves accompanying students to facilities like swimming pools and medical clinics, assisting with feeding, taking notes, correcting homework, maintaining student behavior records, and participating in professional development.
