Description

Lyte is hiring an Optical Test Systems Engineer to design, build, qualify, and deploy automated IQC and OQC test systems for optical components and subsystems across manufacturing and partner sites. The role covers opto-mechanical fixtures, precision instrumentation, motion and machine-vision automation, Python/LabVIEW/C++ test software, optical acceptance criteria, lidar performance correlation, tool replication, calibration, and production ramp support. Candidates need an M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or physics field or equivalent experience, at least five years designing automated optical test equipment, and hands-on instrumentation and test-automation experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years designing automated test equipment or test fixtures for optical, optoelectronic, or opto-mechanical products
Hands-on experience with optical test instrumentation
Test automation programming for instrument control, data acquisition, and motion control
Knowledge of optical assembly specifications and opto-mechanical tolerancing
Experience bringing optical testers from laboratory prototype through production at vendor, contract manufacturing, or OSAT sites
Preferred Qualifications: Lidar, camera, or laser optical engine testing; FMCW or coherent detection systems
IQC/OQC process definition with SPC, Cp/Cpk, gauge R&R, and calibration traceability
MES, SECS/GEM, or shop-floor data collection systems
Machine vision and robotic or conveyorized part handling
Camera or lens IQC test benches
Wafer-level, die-level, chip-on-carrier, or burn-in optical testing
Statistical analysis and CAD tools
Taiwan-based contract manufacturing and OSAT relationships
