Action for Children is hiring a Therapeutic Residential Worker in Newcastle upon Tyne to support children aged 7–18 who have experienced significant early adversity and require emotional support. The permanent, full-time role includes 37 hours per week plus casual hours, with early mornings, late shifts, and waking nights, and pays up to £28,000 per annum. Responsibilities include planning activities and outings, supporting life skills and independence, maintaining a safe home environment, recording observations, and using therapeutic approaches to help children manage emotions and build resilience.
