Description

Blue Origin is hiring a Thermal Protection Systems Engineer in its Lunar Permanence business unit to lead the design, analysis, material selection, testing, verification, and vehicle integration of thermal protection system components for Blue Moon lunar landers under NASA’s Human Landing System program. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, at least seven years of relevant thermal engineering experience, expertise in thermal fundamentals and thermal protection materials, and experience building and testing aerospace hardware in extreme environments. Preferred qualifications include advanced education, high-temperature materials knowledge, reusable and ablative TPS experience, NASA certification, vendor management, Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint, and DOE testing familiarity.
