Exponent is seeking a Thermal Sciences Associate for their Thermal Sciences Practice in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will apply fundamental engineering and scientific techniques to real-world problems in failure analysis, combustion, wildfire, risk mitigation, and product development. Responsibilities include analyzing data, conducting experiments, reviewing client work, researching literature, conducting risk assessments, preparing reports, managing projects, and performing field inspections. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline with strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustion, along with excellent communication skills. While a background in data sciences or electrical engineering is a plus, it is not required. The position requires the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with professionals across various fields.
