Ford is hiring an R&A Thermal Systems Research Engineer to lead research and development of next-generation thermal management systems and components across internal-combustion-engine, electrified, and fuel-cell vehicle platforms. The role owns systems engineering, requirements, simulation, testing, supplier engagement, design validation, and technical leadership across Ford and Lincoln, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring onsite presence four or more days per week. Candidates need at least five years of thermal systems design and systems engineering experience, an advanced degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with an MS required, and strong expertise in coolant and refrigerant subsystems. The position offers salary grades 7 and 8, with ranges of $99,600-$166,600 and $115,000-$192,900 respectively, and does not provide visa sponsorship.
