Description
Toyota Material Handling is hiring a student to conduct a master thesis investigating reinforcement learning for automatically generating challenging test scenarios for autonomous forklift software. The project involves developing and evaluating an RL-based scenario-generation approach, comparing it with random testing and other search or optimization methods, analyzing discovered failures and test coverage, and investigating whether simulated failure scenarios can be reproduced on a physical autonomous truck. The thesis is supported by Toyota Material Handling and is intended for two students, each receiving 30 ECTS, with a start date of January 2027 and an application deadline of 2026-11-01.
