Description
The Third Officer understudies and assists the Second Officer, keeping a navigational watch and supporting cargo operations, stability, ballast, moorings, and ship security during watch. The role is responsible for safety of personnel, upkeep of firefighting and lifesaving equipment, on-board training records, GMDSS station duties when required, and maintaining recreational and technical libraries, while following lawful commands from the Master. The posting emphasizes maritime competencies including bridge teamwork, passage planning, chart corrections, cargo planning, tanker and LNG/crude cargo experience, inspections, ISM/ISPS, and strong English communication.
