Description

Dark Wolf is hiring a full-time Threat Detection Engineer to design, build, test, and deploy detection logic using Detection-as-Code across on-premise and AWS GovCloud environments. The role focuses on high-fidelity alerts, threat hunting, automated remediation, SIEM and data-lake telemetry engineering, and AI/ML-assisted detection development. It is fully on-site at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and US citizenship, and offers an estimated salary of $100,000 to $160,000.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: 4+ years of relevant experience
2+ years of hands-on experience authoring and tuning detection logic in Splunk Enterprise and the ELK Stack
2+ years of experience applying DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies, and procedures, including assessment and authorization activities
Experience within a vSOC, SOC, or CSSP responding to cyber incidents
Direct experience ingesting, normalizing, and engineering detections for AWS GovCloud security telemetry
Experience using GitLab for Detection-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and DevSecOps workflows
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing detections as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
Familiarity with container runtime security and Kubernetes threat modeling
Experience with RHEL
Experience performing post-incident computer forensics without destroying critical data
Ability to guide engineering and software development staff on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements
