Description

Amazon is hiring a Threat Intelligence Analyst to lead a new Buyer Risk Prevention intelligence function. The role gathers and analyzes threats from dark web marketplaces, encrypted channels, and fraud-as-a-service platforms; profiles threat actors; produces fraud modus operandi reports; develops tradecraft and tooling workflows; mentors analysts; and coordinates with ML, Risk, Engineering, Legal, and law enforcement teams. The position requires confidential-information handling, OSINT and investigative research skills, fraud-ecosystem knowledge, and at least five years of relevant experience. It is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of 82,700 to 129,800 USD annually.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, fraud investigations, risk analysis, or cybercrime research
Experience handling confidential information
Experience establishing partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives
Proficiency with OSINT methodologies and investigative research techniques
Knowledge of fraud ecosystems, including carding, account takeover, synthetic identity fraud, refund abuse, phishing, and fraud-as-a-service models
Familiarity with payment systems, e-commerce fraud vectors, or chargeback patterns
Preferred Qualifications: Experience collecting intelligence from dark web marketplaces, underground forums, and encrypted communication channels
OPSEC expertise, including persona management, attribution avoidance, and safe browsing practices
Experience with MITRE ATT&CK frameworks
SANS certifications such as FOR578 or SEC487
Experience with Flashpoint, Recorded Future, or Maltego Enterprise
Established relationships with law enforcement agencies or intelligence-sharing communities
Experience building or contributing to a threat intelligence function
Experience producing court-ready evidence or supporting legal and enforcement proceedings
Experience integrating threat intelligence into machine learning pipelines or automated detection systems
Experience with link analysis tools for visual investigation and relationship mapping
