Description
Apple is seeking a Plastic Tooling Manager to lead the development of new plastic injection tooling projects, guide suppliers through tool design, build, process development, and qualification, and serve as the internal authority on mold-making materials and fabrication techniques. The role collaborates with product, industrial design, supply management, and manufacturing engineering teams; drives continuous improvement, productivity, and quality; applies Design for Manufacturing, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma; trains engineers at supplier plants in Asia; and develops supplier relationships through quality control visits. The position requires at least 10 years of mold-making and molding experience, 25% travel, and preferably extensive tooling design and manufacturing experience, plastic materials knowledge, lens and optical tooling experience, plastic processing parameter development, overseas vendor program leadership, and a BS or MS in Plastics Engineering.
