MCDOT is hiring a Traffic Management Technician I/II for its Transportation Management Section in the Division of Traffic Engineering & Ops. The role monitors and operates the Advanced Transportation Management System, including central traffic signals and video cameras; identifies traffic problems and signal malfunctions; dispatches repair teams and response resources; coordinates incident responses; disseminates traveler information; documents events; and conducts traffic engineering studies and signal-timing analyses. The position works rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts and requires a high school education, a valid Class C driver’s license, and completion of a medical history form and drug screening. Traffic Management Technician I requires one year of relevant traffic engineering or management experience, while Technician II requires three years of paraprofessional traffic engineering experience.
