Awanui Labs is hiring a permanent part-time Trainee/Registered Phlebotomist for its Balclutha Collection Centre, with some training in Dunedin. The role involves collecting blood samples from community and hospital patients, handling and transporting biological specimens, supporting point-of-care testing, and maintaining patient confidentiality and quality standards. Applicants need a positive customer-service approach, attention to detail, computer skills, and eligibility to work in New Zealand; Medical Science Council registration is not required initially because the employer will support progression toward a qualified Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician within two years.
