Description
The Transfer Vehicle Operator transports solid waste in a tractor-trailer between SPSA Transfer Stations and disposal sites, including the Landfill. The role performs load inspections, trailer unloading, vehicle and equipment maintenance, cleaning, safety checks, documentation, and compliance with Department of Transportation and SPSA requirements. It requires a Class A commercial driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and either two years of tractor-trailer driving experience or one year of experience after completing an approved Tractor Trailer School. The position involves 8- or 10-hour shifts in dusty, odorous, and adverse weather conditions.
