Electric Power Engineers (EPE) is looking for an experienced Transmission Planning Software Engineer to join their EPE utilities team. This role involves combining expertise in transmission planning and power system engineering with hands-on software development and testing. The primary responsibilities include developing, testing, and validating software solutions to enhance transmission planning assessment workflows, automating processes, and ensuring software meets the complex needs of modern transmission systems. The successful candidate will also conduct technical demonstrations, collaborate with various teams, and provide client support.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems; a Master’s degree is a plus.
Required Previous Experiences: 4+ years of experience as a power systems engineer, including transmission planning and analysis or renewable energy development.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong programming and automation skills, particularly in Python.
Proficiency in power system software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
Experience conducting power system studies like Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
Experience with software testing frameworks and methodologies to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of developed tools.
Familiarity with cloud-based software development and the integration of power system models.
Knowledge of AI-driven or machine-learning applications in power systems is a plus.
