The Transportation Engineering Technician supports maintenance project development from concept through design by assisting with engineering analyses, preparing plans, specifications and estimates packages, performing drafting and design calculations, and developing maintenance plan documents. The role works with engineers, reviews plans for accuracy and compliance, and uses design software and drafting tools. Transportation Engineer Tech I requires no experience, while Tech II requires two years of drafting, design, and plan-preparation experience; both require a high school education or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive a state vehicle.
