Description
The Transportation Aide coordinates restorative nursing care and patient transportation for residents in a facility. The role includes overseeing restorative programs, documenting patient progress, assisting with mobility equipment and activities of daily living, supporting families, and safely transporting residents to hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers, and private residences. The position also requires operating and maintaining a bus or van, completing vehicle inspections and logs, following safety and infection-control procedures, and communicating with facility staff. A registered Certified Nursing Assistant credential, an active Illinois driver’s license, effective communication, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks are required; a high school diploma and bus or van driving experience are preferred.
