Description
The position transports fuel, equipment, supplies, automobiles, and materials to field locations and equipment shops using tractor-trailer combinations or wrecker trucks. Duties include loading and unloading, maintaining movement documentation, operating roadway maintenance equipment, performing pre-trip inspections and preventive maintenance, and completing heavy manual labor during routine and emergency operations. The role requires a CDL and DOT medical card, safety and fuel-handling knowledge, customer service, communication, and the ability to work independently. It is associated with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
