Description
The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a roadway maintenance Transportation Operator to perform emergency roadway operations, operate and maintain light, medium, and heavy-duty highway equipment, remove snow, ice, and debris, provide traffic control, conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs, install and maintain work-zone traffic control devices, and perform heavy manual labor as part of a roadway maintenance crew. The role requires effective communication, following work plans and instructions, knowledge of highway maintenance and MUTCD work-zone standards, safe equipment and tool operation, and the ability to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment.
