Description
Volkert is hiring an experienced Transportation Project Engineer to support its Gulf Region across Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role leads or assists with roadway geometry, drainage, traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, ITS, maintenance-of-traffic plans, traffic operations analyses, planning studies, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports. The engineer will direct EIs, designers, and interns, coordinate with subconsultants, participate in client meetings and business development, and apply DOT standards and engineering calculations. The position requires a civil engineering degree, 4–10+ years of relevant experience, a PE license, familiarity with transportation design standards and software, and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and occasionally travel overnight.
