Description
The Triage Nurse performs initial patient assessments in urgent care or emergency settings, gathers medical history and symptoms, checks vital signs, collects samples, assigns triage priorities, coordinates with physicians and other care-team members, updates health information systems, and follows infection-control and patient-safety standards. The role requires nursing training from an accredited school, an LPN or RN, a current state registered nursing license, a current CPR/BLS certificate, and appropriate healthcare immunizations; 1–3 years of professional nursing experience is preferred.
