Description
The Tribal Prosecutor serves under the Washoe General Counsel and handles adult criminal and juvenile delinquency matters, attorney services for the Department of Social Services, and services for the Healing to Wellness Drug Court. Responsibilities include reviewing and investigating cases, preparing and presenting prosecutions and adjudications, advising law enforcement and social services, filing charges and petitions, negotiating settlements, representing the Tribe in trials and appeals, making sentencing and disposition recommendations, and drafting court orders. The role requires a law license, Juris Doctorate, two years of court legal-counsel experience, at least one year of trial work, a valid Nevada or California driver’s license, and successful drug/alcohol and background screening.
