Description
The Trust Accountant performs day-to-day trust accounting and regulatory compliance for funeral and cemetery trust accounts, including reconciling transactions and accrual accounts, preparing journal entries and schedules, processing withdrawals and trustee transfers, monitoring deadlines, supporting audits and trust tax returns, and coordinating trust reporting and deposits with business locations. The role requires strong accounting, communication, computer, and organizational skills; a four-year degree or equivalent education and experience is preferred, along with up to two years of accounting experience focused on financial or trust reporting. The position is generally performed in an indoor office, may involve outdoor duties and up to 15 percent local or overnight travel, and requires a valid driver’s license and company-vehicle insurance.
