Description
The U.S. Probation / Pretrial Services Officer serves in a judiciary law enforcement capacity by conducting investigations, preparing court reports and recommendations, enforcing court-ordered supervision, assessing risk, addressing substance abuse and mental health issues, handling violations, and coordinating with courts, law enforcement, treatment agencies, and community resources. The role requires a bachelor's degree, U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States, a valid driver's license, and the ability to perform physically demanding duties; new officers attend a six-week academy at FLETC. Compensation ranges from $51,419 to $128,385 depending on the CL-25, CL-27, or CL-28 qualification level.
