The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining underground mining equipment such as jumbos, MacLean bolters, scoops, utility vehicles, and drills; performing preventive and corrective maintenance; responding to breakdowns; and maintaining repair records and safety compliance. The position requires a valid Red Seal or Journeyman license, at least three years of heavy-duty mechanic experience, Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification, drilling and blasting knowledge, and the ability to work in physically demanding and confined environments. The schedule is 7/7 or 14/14 with 10–12-hour shifts, and the wage is $66.44–$77.00 per hour, with potential KPI and referral bonuses.
