Description
The Patient Care Unit Clerk supports a patient-care service or nursing unit under direct supervision by performing clerical, reception, logistical, customer-service, and sitter duties. Responsibilities include operating computer terminals, managing paper medical records, maintaining supplies and equipment, monitoring telemetry, assisting with EMR and CPOE, answering call lights, supporting patient discharge and transportation, and observing assigned patients. The role requires a high school education or equivalent, variable day/evening and weekend hours, and either six months of prior job experience involving substantial computer use or equivalent computer training.
