SMU is hiring an on-campus, in-person Unit Financial Planning Officer to provide high-level financial, administrative, and strategic planning support to a unit executive leader. The role oversees financial planning, resource allocation, budget forecasting, grants and contracts, business operations, and related financial activities; develops financial models, data analyses, reports, dashboards, and process improvements; and advises unit and department staff on financial practices. The position requires a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency. A master’s degree and experience in higher education, financial consulting, ERP systems, FP&A systems, Power BI, or Tableau are preferred.
