Description
The Utility Locate Technician (Trainee) is an entry-level field role that learns to identify, locate, and mark underground utilities under the guidance of experienced technicians and supervisors. Responsibilities include interpreting utility maps, operating electromagnetic detection equipment, marking utilities, documenting locate activity, following safety and damage-prevention procedures, and supporting project completion. The role provides hands-on and classroom training, requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, outdoor work capability, and physical ability to walk long distances, work on uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 pounds.
