The Vehicle Equipment Installer installs, maintains, repairs, and upfits law enforcement vehicle equipment such as radios, emergency lights, mobile data terminals, cameras, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communications, transport cages, wiring, triggers, and power supplies. The role coordinates with IT for programming, diagnoses equipment defects, arranges warranty service, tracks inventory, and supports Fleet personnel. It requires a high school diploma or GED, EVT Emergency Technician Certification, at least two years of vehicle electronics experience, FCC Element 1 and 3 licensing, a valid Florida driver's license, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to interpret technical diagrams.
