Description
The Vehicle Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, maintains, and overhauls company-owned light-duty vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, tank trucks, tractors, trailers, and related equipment. The role handles mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel-system issues; engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and other major repairs; preventive maintenance; road-service calls; tire replacement; and DOT and FMCSA compliance documentation. Candidates need 2–4 years of fleet, diesel, or automotive mechanic experience or equivalent training, a valid CDL or ability to obtain one with hazmat and tank endorsements, diagnostic and mechanical repair skills, and knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements.
