The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians in an AAHA-accredited general practice hospital in West Deptford, New Jersey. Responsibilities include restraining and preparing animals for examinations and treatments, administering medications, maintaining sanitation, feeding and exercising animals, monitoring patient behavior, and communicating care instructions to pet owners. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior animal-care experience, basic animal-handling knowledge, teamwork, and communication skills; veterinary assistant certification, medical recordkeeping, laboratory procedures, and CPR and first aid are preferred.
