The Veterinary Assistant supports the Shelter Medicine team by assisting with animal intake and discharge, clinical procedures, restraint, medication administration, sample collection, emergency first aid, client communication, recordkeeping, and clinic maintenance. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, approved Veterinary Assistant Certification, and one year of shelter or veterinary-clinic experience, along with strong animal-care, biosecurity, communication, computer, and records-management skills. The position offers flexible hours, occasional overtime, and may involve physically demanding work in a shelter environment.
