Description
KHS is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, other assistants, staff, and volunteers in providing shelter medicine, surgery, treatment, and care for shelter and foster animals. Responsibilities include animal care and cleaning, medication preparation, surgical preparation and instrument cleaning, examinations, treatment implementation, laboratory and radiography support, client education, record-keeping, and front-office customer service. The role requires at least one year of animal welfare or veterinary practice experience, willingness to work weekends, the ability to handle animals and clients, and the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. The position pays $18.28-$20.00 per hour.
