Description
Meadowbrook Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant in Peoria, Illinois. The role supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries; handles and restrains animals; prepares and sterilizes examination and surgical areas; collects laboratory samples; administers medications and vaccinations under supervision; feeds, bathes, and exercises animals; maintains medical records; communicates with pet owners; and maintains a clean clinic. Candidates must have previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting, technical knowledge of disinfection, medication administration, and diagnostic equipment, and the physical ability to handle animals safely. The schedule is Monday–Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with four 10-hour shifts and a consistent day off, plus rotating Saturdays from 7:45 AM to 12:00 PM. Compensation is $17.00–$20.00 per hour, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, a 401(k) match, an employee pet discount, and a referral bonus.
