Parkwood Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and surgeries. The role includes safely handling and restraining animals, preparing and sterilizing examination and surgical areas, collecting laboratory samples, administering medications and vaccinations under supervision, feeding and exercising animals, maintaining medical records, communicating with pet owners, and keeping the clinic clean and stocked. The position requires at least one year of veterinary experience, technical knowledge of disinfection, medication administration, and diagnostic equipment, and the physical ability to handle animals safely. It offers medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, a 401(k) match, and employee pet discounts, with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts, same-day off, and rotating Saturdays, and pays $13.00–$15.00 per hour.
