Willowrun Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant in Smithfield, North Carolina. The role supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgeries; safely handles and restrains animals; prepares and sterilizes examination and surgical areas; collects samples; administers medications and vaccinations under supervision; feeds, bathes, and exercises animals; maintains medical records; communicates with pet owners; and keeps the clinic clean and stocked. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with one weekday off and one Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The position pays $15.00 to $18.00 per hour and requires previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting, knowledge of disinfection, medication administration, and diagnostic equipment, and the physical ability to handle animals safely.
