Description
Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant, Emergency in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The role supports the emergency team by assisting with patient examinations, treatments, procedures, restraint, diagnostics, hospitalization, client communication, nursing care, documentation, and hospital maintenance. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including one weekend shift, with day or overnight options. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour based on a skills assessment plus a $5 per hour shift differential for shifts between 12:00 p.m. and 7:00:00 a.m. Previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred, while strong communication, organization, compassion, teamwork, English fluency, and a willingness to learn are required.
