Description
Veterinary externship program for students in an accredited DVM program to gain supervised hands-on experience in a small animal practice. The externship lasts two to eight weeks, typically two or three weeks, includes days, evenings, and weekends, and provides a $250 weekly stipend. Externs gather histories, perform physical exams, develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans, assist in surgery and medical case management, provide wellness care, communicate with clients, and complete medical records under veterinary supervision.
